What is POTS
Postural: Depending on your bodies position (lying to seated)
Orthostatic: Upright posture
Tachycardia: Increased in heart rate or increased intensity of heart rate
Syndrome: The condition of having this.
Many people that come into our office tell us “I have constant brain fog and my memory is bad”. Oftentimes this is the first symptom of POTS you will notice. It's not until you have symptoms of “feeling constantly light headed and like you're going to pass out” until people start to seek care for this.
What Causes POTS?
POTS is oftentimes treated with an increase of electrolytes or rest. However this oftentimes only treats the symptom instead of correcting the cause.
How POTS is related to your nervous system:
Your brainstem is where all vasomotor (blood flow) is controlled by. Think of your brainstem as the master control center, monitoring blood pressure, blood flow, and heart rate.
The top bone in the neck, called the atlas, sits directly around the brainstem. When this bone misaligns, it alters nerve signal to your blood vessels, which can cause lack of blood flow to your brain and can cause you to feel light headed.
Common Symptoms Associated With POTS
People dealing with POTS commonly experience:
-
Brain Fog
-
Extreme Fatigue
-
Dizziness
-
Light headedness
-
Fainting or passing out.
Many patients are surprised to learn these symptoms may all be connected to your nervous system, and more importantly your brainstem.
Why Traditional Approaches Sometimes Fail
One of the biggest frustrations people have is that they may temporarily feel better, but the problem keeps coming back. That’s because many treatments focus on symptom management instead of identifying whether there is an underlying structural or neurological issue contributing to the condition. At Ace Chiropractic, we begin by looking at the nervous system and upper cervical spine to determine whether it's functioning.
Our Approach at Ace Chiropractic
At one of our locations in Scottsdale, Phoenix, or Gilbert Az Ace Chiropractic, we use advanced imaging and neurologic testing to analyze the upper cervical spine and nervous system. This allows us to zoom in, adjust contrast, and zoom in to a hundredth of a millimeter to know exactly how the spine is misaligned and to know if that specific misalignment is interfering with Vasomotor function (Nervous system blood flow).
Our goal is not simply temporary relief — it’s reducing or eliminating nervous system interference so communication between your brain and body can function without interruption, allowing your posture and overall function to improve on its own.

Why People in are Searching for Upper Cervical Chiropractors
More people are beginning to understand the relationship between the C1 Vertebrae, the brainstem, and autonomic functions in the body. If this area of the spine is misaligned, it could affect various parts of your autonomic nervous system.
That’s why patients searching for terms like:
-
“Upper cervical chiropractor near me”
-
“POTS specialist in Scottsdale or Phoenix”
-
“Cause of POTS”
-
“Natural Doctor for POTS”
are looking for more than temporary symptom relief. They’re looking for answers.
